Upcoming Marvel Movies and Shows
2025 and 2026 have a tremendous roadmap for Marvel because it will see some of the most-awaited movies and shows that will explore both familiar and new heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
2025 sees the biggest release. Set for a Disney+ debut in March is "Daredevil: Born Again," which will keep track of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in a dark, complex storyline by Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio). Other key characters are also expected to make an appearance, like Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
Marvel’s "Thunderbolts," releasing in May, is a film about antiheroes such as Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), and Red Guardian (David Harbour), who team up for a challenging government mission with unexpected twists.
It skews a little older, but "Ironheart," coming to Disney+ in June, has all the hallmarks of a future foundational Marvel series. It centres on Riri Williams, a teenage inventor who makes her own advanced armour and goes toe to toe with a magical bad guy, The Hood (Anthony Ramos). The show will combine high-tech superpowers with fantasy elements, creating an imaginative new section of the MCU.
In July, Marvel fans can finally expect "Fantastic Four," marking the MCU debut of Marvel’s “First Family.” This reboot will bring characters like Reed Richards and Sue Storm into the Marvel universe, set in a retrofuturistic 1960s aesthetic
In October, just in time for Halloween, the animated special "Marvel Zombies" will be a darker take on the MCU, depicting iconic heroes and villains as flesh-eating undead, a spinoff of the popular "What If...?" series.
Then, 2026 will continue the storyline with "Avengers: Doomsday" on May 1st. It is sure going to be one of the biggest crossover events in the MCU. The movie is a set-up for the climatic "Avengers: Secret Wars" planned later that year and is going to pull characters from other universes as the MCU wraps up its Multiverse Saga.
And with all these new releases, Marvel is certainly going to go further than in the most uncharted directions to deliver a true cliffhanger across platforms and storytelling styles.
